Vehicles are provided by the administration so that you can enjoy the sanctuary while the driver skillfully navigates you through the routes so that you can spot the wildlife better.

You get trails such as Border Hikes, Tiger Trails, and Jungle Patrols. The Periyar sanctuary is surrounded by homes and rest houses for tourists (paid, of course).

The infrastructure has recently gone through a depression due to poaching. However, you can now see the residents taking up the cause of protecting the wildlife and greenery.
